Paihia, is a small town, but has a lot to offer. Beautiful coastal walks, guest enhanced areas, such as our village green and village park. We have a beautiful heritage Library and even a small mini (free book) library in the village park. Play a game of “tic tac toe” and browse the “phone box Tardis”, for a book to while away the hours, whilst sitting in one of the great wave seats. The park area has been designed, especially, for Paihia’s visitors. Stay, at least 2 – 3 days here, there is a lot to see and do, but also a lot to observe and absorb. It is not all rush, rush here. Pearl of the Bay is 4 minutes, by car, from Waitangi Treaty Grounds. They have just won the 2016 New Zealand award in the Māori Cultural Tourism category. The whole town is really proud, and the new museum which opened on February 7th, this year is outstanding. Add this achievement, to the fact that Paihia won the Trust power national community award, for 2016, and the community of the year award in 2015, and then ask yourself, wouldn’t you like to see for yourself what this beautiful spot in the Bay of Islands has to offer? Pearl of the Bay, we believe there is “magic in the bay everyday”. We would like to share that with you. Our visitors mean something to us, and Paihia works hard to ensure a great guest experience.
